Could be a lefty. My brother is left-handed. And my mother was too, except that she was forced to use her right hand for writing in school. They did that in those days.
Two great-grandpas on Tom's side were leftys by nature. Well, I know Grandpa Bob was, and I'm pretty sure I heard Grandpa Duke was.
My sister only ever sucked on her left hand and she's a righty!
